On Thursday night, at the 68th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2023, Prosenjit Chatterjee, whose portrayal of Srikant Roy, the head honcho of a Hindi film studio in the online series “Jubilee,” has been praised by one and all, made a stunning entrance.
The Tollywood star, dressed in an all-black Indo-Western ensemble, radiated coolness as he cheerfully posed for photographers on the red carpet. The renowned actor, known as the ‘industry’ in Tollywood, appeared pleased to attend the black-tie awards ceremony.
Prosenjit Chatterjee devoted the last three decades of his life to the success of Bengali films. Although he had early success in Bollywood, he never relocated to Mumbai and instead put his concentration on Bengali films. After years of preparation, Prosenjit has made his national OTT debut, and now he is receiving rave reviews from both fans and critics.
In addition to working with series director Vikramaditya Motwane, “Jubilee” allowed us to honour the pioneers of India’s film industry. After Dibakar Banerjee’s ‘Shanghai’ in 2012, the series marks his comeback to a production in Hindi.
His portrayal of a visionary film studio CEO in the show, in which he stars, was praised for its intensity. I wanted to be involved because I know that, somehow, everyone who contributed to Indian cinema will be honoured. Srikant Roy is an influential protagonist. I’ve never used an OTT service before, and to be honest, I couldn’t care less about the platform. He expressed his gratitude for working with such a bright and promising young team in an interview.
