After making their way through the forest by following the stream, a child of 10 years old showed that they are resourceful and resilient by spending the night on some trees.The tenacity of a young girl who, despite becoming separated from her family and becoming lost in the treacherous terrain of the Cascade Mountains, was able to live on her own for more than twenty-four hours is being lauded by search and rescue workers in the state of Washington.

The Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office stated in a Facebook post that Shunghla Mashwani was attending a gathering with her extended family in the Cle Elum River Valley on Sunday when she lost contact with the group as they crossed a pedestrian bridge over the river to eat lunch close to the Cathedral Pass Trailhead. The bridge was located near the Cathedral Pass Trailhead.Approximately 85 miles to the east of Seattle is where you’ll find Kittitas County.The youngster and her family relocated to the United States from Afghanistan two years ago.
