Actress Bhumika Chawla condemns the vile reporting about the murder of co-star Sushant Singh Rajput: You can’t let the people manage the justice system

Actress Bhumika Chawla
Bhumika Chawla had previously co-starred with Sushant Singh Rajput in MS Dhoni: The Untold Story before starring alongside Salman Khan in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. In the film adaptation of MS Dhoni’s life, she played MS Dhoni’s older sister, while Sushant portrayed the real-life cricket star. Bhumika regarded Sushant to be a nice and genuine guy, despite their limited screen time together.
Bhumika recalled that during their time on set in Ranchi, Sushant would often talk about his life and other random topics. She would just sit and listen to him talk, and it dawned on her that actors are just like everyone else and have feelings.
Bhumika was profoundly saddened by the news of Sushant’s passing and was unable to move on with her life for a very long time. She lamented the vile reporting on Sushant’s murder and claimed she was disheartened to hear several explanations, including those involving Bollywood, nepotism, and even narcotics. She claimed that the evening news broadcasts bungled the story and that the situation seemed like a scene from a saas-bahu drama.
Every single station appeared to be doing the same thing. That begs the question: why? If it’s because they don’t want to speak the truth about what’s happening in the country, or because they’re out of topics to talk about, or because they want to change the subject, Bhumika wondered aloud on a talk program.
While the country was fighting the pandemic, she said, this went on for four months. She criticized the lack of civility in the system and added that the people should not be in charge of the judicial system. The case must be solved first, and only then can the news be released. She went on to say that “decency” was lacking.
Bhumika stated, “he was too young and unfortunately, embroiled in too many controversies.” Bhumika was deeply saddened by Sushant’s passing, she said. Some thought it was due to isolation, others to sadness. What transpired, I have no idea.
