When Bollywood star Alia Bhatt arrived at the Met Gala in an ivory ball gown hand beaded with 100,000 pearls in India, all eyes were on her.
The actress made her first appearance on the fabled red carpet and immediately took to her handle to treat followers to a photoshoot and some up-close images of her stunning attire.
The actress looked stunning on the red carpet in a Prabal Gurung design that was an homage to the late, great German fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld and was clearly inspired by Claudia Schiffer’s classic garment. The dress code this year was “in honour of Karl,” and the topic was “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.”
These recent images get a better look at Alia’s elaborately beaded pearls and ivory silk tulle ball gown with an exaggerated basque waist. The actor accessorised with a pearl hair bow, a stack of rings, and a knuckle duster.
The 30-year-old, who will make her big screen debut in the upcoming action film “Heart of Stone,” revealed that she was inspired by Lagerfeld’s legendary Chanel brides. Season after season, Karl Lagerfeld’s brilliance was on full display in the most cutting-edge and breathtaking haute couture. The bridal style that Claudia Schiffer wore to the Chanel bridal show in 1992 inspired my outfit for today,” Alia wrote.
A number of the world’s most famous celebrities, such as Rihanna, Naomi Campbell, Miranda Kerr, Doja Cat, Serena Williams, Pedro Pascal, Lilly Collins, Salma Hayek, Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Kim Kardashian, and Penelope Cruz, were on hand for the Met Gala in 2023.
