Anupam Kher, a veteran actor, congratulated the cast and crew of “RRR” and “The Elephant Whisperer” on winning Oscars for India.
With the caption, “Anupam took to Instagram to share a video, “All the actors in me are overjoyed for the success of #ElephantWhisperer and @rrrmovie. This is a tremendous achievement for #IndianCinema. For giving 1.4 billion #Indians reasons to celebrate and dance with joy and pride, thank you to @guneetmonga @kartikigonsalves @ssrajamouli @mmkeeravani official @alwaysramcharan @jrntr and everyone involved with these two incredible films. “Jai Hind!” @theacademy.”
Anupam praised Guneet Monga, SS Rajamouli, and MM Keeravand among others in the clip.
Reposting Guneet Monga’s winning post, Kartik Aaryan commented, “Victory at the 95th Academy Awards was epic. You’ve done us all proud, @quneetmonga @kartikigonsalves. Also, everyone on #TheElephantWhispers team.”
In addition, he posted a video of MM Keeravani’s speech with the caption, “The #NaatuNaatu era has begun. The Importance of This Is Off the Charts! All of us at #*RRR want to say congratulations.”
He wasn’t the only celebrity to offer their congratulations to the winners; SRK, Rajinikanth, Ajay Devgn, Sidharth Malhotra, Kajol, and many more all did the same.
Naatu Naatu triumphed over heavy hitters like Rihanna and Lady Gaga to take home the prize. The award was accepted on the team’s behalf by composer MM Keeravani and lyricist Chandrabose. The event was attended by the film’s composer SS Rajamouli, lead actors Jr NTR and Ram Charan, and singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava.
To my knowledge, ‘Naatu Naatu’ is the first Telugu song to ever be nominated for an Academy Award in the ‘Original Song’ category.
Naatu Naatu, the song from RRR, has a lyrical composition by MM Keeravani, a high-energy performance by singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava, a distinctive choreography by Prem Rakshith, and lyrics by Chandrabose.
‘Applause’ from ‘Tell It Like a Woman,’ ‘Hold My Hand’ from ‘Top Gun: Maverick,’ ‘Lift me Up’ from ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,’ and ‘This Is Life’ from ‘Everything, Everywhere, All at Once’ were some of the other entries in the competition.
Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem, two Telugu freedom fighters, are fictionally portrayed in the film. Main characters were portrayed by Ram Charan and Jr NTR. Over Rs 1,200 Crore was made at the box office. Besides Alia Bhatt and Shriya Saran, Ajay Devgn was also in the movie.
Earlier, the Indian documentary “The Elephant Whisperers” took home the Academy Award for Best Documentary Short. Director Kartiki Gonsalves and producer Guneet Monga stepped to the front of the stage to accept the award.
Now we reach Guneet Monga’s The Elephant Whisperers. Many people’s faith in India’s potential to become a world leader was bolstered by a documentary directed by Kartiki Gonsalves. Among other nominees in the category of “Best Documentary Short Film,” it beat out “Haul Out,” “How Do You Measure a Year?,” “The Martha Mitchell Effect,” and “Stranger at the Gate” to take home the Academy Award.
Gonsalves said in her acceptance speech, “I feel compelled to speak today about the inherent spirituality of our relationship with the natural world. With reverence for local cultures. Entity towards the other sentient beings who share our planet with us. And now, the case for living together. We appreciate the Academy’s attention to our film celebrating native communities and wildlife. thanks to Netflix for having faith in the potential of this movie. You guys are the centre of my universe, especially Guneet, my producer, and the rest of my amazing team. Back to India, my birthplace.”
Following this, Guneet Monga posted on Twitter, “The first-ever Academy Award for Best Indian Film goes to us! This was the work of two different ladies. It has been a while, but I still feel the chill.”
This film follows a family as they take in two baby elephants from the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve in Tamil Nadu. Everybody in the country, not just the victors, is ecstatic about this historic victory.
