At Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s office, a lot has been going on recently. Recent rumors in the hallways suggest that Bhansali has abandoned plans to remake the 1952 Meena Kumari classic ‘Baiju Bawra’ with Ranveer Singh. To put it mildly, for the time being.
A rumor has it that Bhansali is ready to move forward with a project starring Shah Rukh Khan and the story he’s been thinking about. Or, he shall make ‘Inshallah’ with Salman Khan.
According to reports, no producer or studio was willing to invest in the ‘Baiju Bawra’ remake because it required a large sum of money at a time when Bollywood is in both transition and crisis. This was not an easy decision for Bhansali to make, as he had put a lot of time and effort into the project. Still, how long do you think he could hold out? It makes sense for the celebrated director, who has an astonishing way of storytelling and a great vision for detailing, to move forward with new ideas if SRK and Salman are willing to join forces with him soon.
