Ajay Singh directed the 2023 Hindi heist thriller Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga, produced by Amar Kaushik. Yami Gautam and Sunny Kaushal lead.[2][3] Netflix streaming released the film on March 24, 2023.PlotIn Al-Barkat, a fictional Middle Eastern city, Ankit Sethi owns a diamond insurance company that owes 20 crores since its employees lost a client’s diamonds. He falls for flight attendant Neha Grover. Neha likes him after their date. After dating, Neha announces her pregnancy. She agrees to marry Ankit. Two goons from Ankit’s debtor attack them. Neha miscarries after serious injury.

They plan to loot to repay the hefty debt. Minister Harish Sanyal would fly diamonds from Al-Barkat to India with his courier and Ankit. A code-locked briefcase would hold a mobile with a diamond-covered rear. Ankit offers Sanyal’s secretary half the diamonds in exchange for the code number. On the flight, Ankit and Neha execute their plan: Neha spills food on the courier’s clothes while serving passengers, sending him to the toilet to clean up. Ankit grabs the diamonds from the briefcase, but masked terrorists enter and announce that they have hijacked the flight and taken all the passengers hostage.

The hijackers order the pilots to land the jet near Kullu and free Manali prisoner Adil-Mir. Ankit pretends to have asthma and asks the hijackers for his inhaler from the other compartment to steal the gems. Before stealing the diamonds, a hijacker beats him up. Ankit steals the jewels again when government authorities call the hijackers in the cockpit. He puts the diamonds in his bag from the briefcase. Then a hijacker finds the diamonds. He punches Ankit before he can shoot him. The other hijackers beat and lock up Ankit in the bathroom. Sudhanshu Roy, the Flight Marshal, takes up the gun dropped by one of the hijackers and shoots them all, reportedly killing them. Passengers leave the plane safely.

The bomb squad arrives to destroy the hijackers’ bomb on Ankit’s body, but it’s phoney. Sudhanshu and the hijackers’ bodies are missing, too. Bhanu Yadav, the genuine trip Marshall, was comatose throughout the trip, and Sudhanshu was an impostor. RAW officer Parvez Shaikh and his colleagues inspect and interrogate all the passengers. Bhanu said he may have fainted after drinking orange juice on the aircraft. Ankit discovers he stole phoney gems. Ankit feigned to love Neha to get her aid robbing the aeroplane.

Neha also found Ankit was exploiting her for his own gain. To get revenge on Ankit, she and Sudhanshu planned a false hijacking and diamond theft. Jinu, Nikki, and Abbas would board the flight as passengers and later dress as hijackers, and Gaffar would construct fake guns for them. Neha would spike Bhanu’s drink, knocking him out, and Sudhanshu, pretending to be the Flight Marshal, would replace the diamonds with fake ones, pretend to kill the hijackers with a blank bullet, and escape while the hijackers removed their masks and blended in with the passengers.

Neha calls Sanyal and demands that Parvez stop the probe and cover up the diamond smuggling. The case is closed and Bhanu becomes a national hero for executing the hijackers. Neha sends Sanyal a text message showing Ankit’s briefcase code number on his phone. Sanyal tortures Ankit after learning he tried to steal the jewels. Neha visits Ankit in the ICU and tells him that her revenge is complete. Ankit calls Neha afterwards, implying that he wants revenge too.

Critics and audiences generally liked the film. “The plotline and the double jeopardy situation of a heist and a hijack make Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga an exciting watch,” stated Dhaval Roy of The Times Of India, giving the film 3.5 stars out of 5. The tale may not be compelling, and events often seem opportune, but the sleek handling and directing will keep you fascinated.”Citation needed

Umesh Punwani of Koimoi gave the film three stars and stated, “All said and done, Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga is clever but incomplete; it’s smart in new ways but dumb in some old ways.”

“Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga, despite its taut and precise screenplay, is at best passable fare,” observed Saibal Chatterjee of NDTV, giving the film 2.5 stars out of 5. The film starts slowly. When it does, it avoids detours and continues on path.”[5]

“The quick-fire romance between our lead pair leads to hot dates, and rumpled sheets,” said Shubhra Gupta for The Indian Express, giving the film 1.5 stars out of 5. After the introduction, the film gets down to business, and we remain with it.
