Starting today, Far Cry 6 can be played for free on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and PC until February 20. You play as Dani Rojas, a member of the guerrilla group Libertad who travels to the island of Yara in an effort to topple the dictatorship of Antón Castillo. With Dani’s help, they’ll get to explore the island’s various regions while eliminating Castillo’s forces.
All of Far Cry 6’s base game, including the crossover missions inspired by pop culture, such as Rambo: All the Blood and The Vanishing, a Stranger Things mystery, will be available to players during the free weekend. Far Cry 6 is on sale for up to 70% off for a limited time, so if you don’t want your time in Yara to end after the weekend, you better act fast. If you decide to buy the game after the demo period ends, your progress won’t be lost.
For the duration of the free weekend, players can also enjoy Far Cry 6’s co-op mode, forming alliances with others to free Yara. The White Lotus Sniper Rifle will be given to anyone who plays co-op during the free weekend, and will be added to the inventory of anyone who plays co-op but does not own the game. Ubisoft Connect’s Share Play is a new, free feature that allows you to virtually share your screen and controls with friends. This feature is available in Far Cry 6.
