The Filmfare Award for Guddi did not go to Jaya Bhaduri, despite Bindu’s assertions

Filmfare Award
Vamp of esteryears Recently, Bindu gave an interview in which she said that she was not given the Filmfare award for her performance in Raj Khosla’s Do Raaste since she was a novice at the time. To further demonstrate that the it was presented to newbies, she then proceeds to drag Jaya Bhaduri’s , presumably for Hrishikesh Mukerjee’s Guddi.
First off, Bindu wasn’t exactly breaking into the industry with Do Raaste. She was already a seasoned actress with five films under her belt before starring as Mala Sinha’s daughter in Do Raaste’s predecessor, Anpadh. Second, Jaya Bhaduri’s performance in Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s Guddi did not get her. In 1972, she was nominated for an award for her outstanding work in Guddi and Uphaar, but Asha Parekh’s performance in Kati Patang ultimately won out.
The moral of the story is that one should check their facts before claiming victimhood.
