In response to ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’s’ triumph of 10 Filmfare Awards, Sanjay Leela Bhansali said: All of our efforts seem to have paid off

Gangubai Kathiawadi
Several Bollywood stars were present yesterday night at the Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2023. Vicky Kaushal, Janhvi Kapoor, and Jacqueline Fernandez, among others, delivered spectacular performances as Salman Khan co-hosted the event with Maniesh Paul.
Some people had a night to remember because they won the black lady and went home with it. Winner of eleven awards, ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ was directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Alia Bhatt won the award for “Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female)” for her performance as Gangu, while Sanjay Leela Bhansali took home the trophy for “Best Director.” Awards for “Best Choreography” and “Best Dialogue” were among the many that this picture took home. Bhansali, overcome with joy, exclaims, “It’s a terrific occasion for us. It’s a fantastic day for us, and I really feel like all of our efforts are paying off now. It’s a movie we all felt strongly about, and I’m glad I got to direct it. I’m overjoyed that Alia participated in the film alongside Ajay Devgn and the other fantastic actors and technicians involved. It’s always extra special because we worked through the lockdown and the COVID outbreak.
Alia is equally ecstatic, as evidenced by the lengthy thank-you card she sent while posing with her lady of colour. She addressed Sanjay as “Sir,” adding, “Gangu.. meri jaan.. my alter ego, belongs to you.” I appreciate your confidence in me; it helped me develop my own. I can never repay your kindness.
Even at the box office, the film was a success, earning Rs 153 crore in India alone.
