Hema Malini has several talents, including acting, producing, directing, politics, and dancing. The 74-year-old actor, who has been in hits like Sholay and Seeta Aur Geeta, continues to appear in films like Baghban. The mother of two, however, feels that author-backed opportunities for female performers have dried up over the years, in contrast to their male counterparts.
The seasoned actor asked, “Where are the opportunities today?” in an interview with Mid-Day. Even now, actresses have a hard time landing author-endorsed parts. Even now, Mr. Amitabh Bachchan is cast in parts that seem tailor-made for him. But until recently, actresses have not had the opportunity to play such unique characters.
The actor went on to say, “It would be fantastic if someone could develop a tailor-made role having me in mind. I believe that I, too, am capable of achieving success.
The diva recently spoke out on the decision of female performers to continue working after marriage, telling ANI, “I will not react to this much because I never stopped, I got married and continued working non-stop.” It’s possible that they noticed me and are now following me. It’s excellent; the husband should realise that the woman he married possesses extraordinary talent.
Furthermore, she said, “But the wife has to sacrifice a little, being a wife. When she is unable to have a baby right away, you know that things have to slow down. You should absolutely start working if you are of that age and are prepared to do so. If the producers are willing to pay you a significant sum, then that’s fantastic.
