As part of the ‘Jubilee’ project, Ram Kapoor channelled his inner Punjabi

Jubilee
Ram Kapoor, who plays film producer Shamsher Singh Walia in the new streaming series ‘Jubilee,’ said that he “played it to the gallery” in order to get into character, because he trusted director Vikramaditya Motwane’s instincts. The two have worked together before, in Motwane’s directorial debut ‘Udaan,’ which was released in 2010.
Shamsher Singh Walia’s character, played by Aparshakti Khurana, constantly refers to Madan Kumar as “Bhe****d,” or “Bhe****d,” if things go poorly for him. It’s grown so popular that followers are now utilising it in memes to vent their own anger and displeasure.
Ram Kapoor, speaking on his personal development, said, “For Shamsher Singh Walia, I realised that I must bring that Punjabi inside me out.” The more overtly Punjabi my body language, verbal abuse, and general obnoxiousness, the better. And that’s exactly what I did; I turned up the volume on my own personal obnoxiousness to eleven.
His next statement was, “And the reason I could do that is because I trust Vikram tremendously because I worked with him in his very first movie ‘Udaan,'” which was his first directorial effort. Therefore, we had a great deal of faith in one another. So, I felt safe venturing into the realm of insanity, knowing that he would rein me in if necessary. That’s how I came up with Mr. Walia’s personality and developed him.
Produced by Andolan Films in partnership with Reliance Entertainment and Phantom Studios, ‘Jubilee’ is the directorial debut of Vikramaditya Motwane and the screenplay debut of Soumik Sen and Motwane. Aditi Rao Hydari, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Ram Kapoor, Wamiga Gabbi, Sidhant Gupta, and Nandish Sandhu are just some of the actors featured in the Golden Era of Indian Cinema-themed series. Prime members can watch it instantly.
