Strong Reaction from the Interim Prime Minister

On Wednesday, the Interim Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar threatened to bring to jail those responsible for vandalising churches in Jaranwala, Faisalabad over allegations of blasphemy. “The visuals pouring out of Jaranwala, Faisalabad, have left me in utter disbelief.

In a post on X the microblogging platform that was once known as Twitter, Kakar stated that individuals who break the law and target minority groups would be subject to severe repercussions.Additionally, the interim premier stated that all law enforcement agencies have requested to “apprehend perpetrators and bring them to justice.

“In addition to this, the former Prime Minister issued a call to “religious scholars from all schools of thought to come forward and condemn the reprehensible actions.”

An increase in mob violence

Shehbaz on X stated, that Pakistan is home to all of the world’s religious, minorities.In the meantime, the Chairman of the, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, has also spoken, out against the occurrence.”I was horrified to ,learn of the attack on churches in Jaranwala, Faisalabad. It is completely reprehensible to violate the sanctity of places where people go to worship. According to Bilawal on X, the administration, has a responsibility to safeguard, the safety of the, Christian people ,and their churches. “Rest assured that the government of Pakistan stands with our citizenry on equal basis,” he continued. “We are all in this together.”

An increase in mob violence

Former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has also spoken out against the incident, describing it as “sad and disturbing.” He stated that “What is happening in Jaranwala is. “No matter what faith you practise, there is no excuse for violent behaviour. All locations, texts, and figures associated with a religion are considered holy and are deserving of the utmost reverence. I strongly urge the government to take action against those responsible for this,” the head of the Pakistan, Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) said further.After levelling accusations of, blasphemy against the, Christian community, and its individuals,earlier today, a mob carried ;out acts ,of vandalism against, multiple ;churches and set fire to a large ;number of homes.

Government Action and Safety Precautions

Jaranwala town, which is located in, the industrial, sector of Faisalabad, is where the, event took place, according ,to the police ;spokesman Naveed Ahmad. According to him, a crowd had,stormed the community, after two Christians, were accused of blasphemy ,against a third Christian.
