Kriti Sanon has stated that she does not wish to be typecast as an actor, and thus would be open to playing a diva, a woman with her own mind, or in “messy” action sequences. The actor, who is famous for her roles in films like “Bareilly Ki Barfi” and “Mimi,” is excited about the wide variety of roles she will play in 2018. She has roles in the upcoming 2023 films ‘Shehzada,’ ‘Adipurush,’ and ‘Ganapath,’ all of which are masala comedies and action flicks, respectively.
Sanon has stated that she is anticipating the public’s reaction to the releases of all three films because of their uniqueness.
Always have a wide variety of films available to an actor. It’s not that I only want to take on projects with meaty roles, but rather that I don’t want to be limited to films in which I have a supporting role. Please don’t put me in a mould; I prefer to be free to roam. As much as possible, I’d like to appeal to a wide variety of readers. Actually, I’m a member of the audience who enjoys watching movies of all kinds. So I don’t want to keep doing the same thing, I want to shape myself in different worlds,” the 32-year-old actor said in an interview with PTI.
Sanon plays Samara, a lawyer, in ‘Shehzada,’ and says her character is a “strong-headed, independent woman.”
This is the character most like me. There was no need for me to assume the form of another. For the most part, this was a role that was enjoyable and simple to perform. Since I’ve been playing roles in smaller cities lately, I haven’t been able to use my glamorous online persona. She said of her role in the upcoming film, “It is nice and refreshing to break.”
Sanon will perform stunts in “Ganapath,” while in “Adipurush,” she plays Janaki, who is said to be based on Sita from the epic “Ramayana.”
While the film “Adipurush” is set in the past, my role as the film’s protagonist is anything but minor. The film “Ganapath” is grimy and chaotic, reminiscent of the “Mad Max” series. She continued, “There is a lot of action and something that I haven’t done at all before.
The Delhi-born actress has said that each of her three film roles has been challenging in their own way.
Sanon said it’s not necessary that only hard-hitting or serious roles pose a challenge, using her critically acclaimed drama “Mimi” from 2021 as an example.
The complexity of “Adipurush” was largely due to the gravity of the character. There’s a lot more mental preparation involved, like how I’m going to talk, how my body language can’t look modern, etc. So, it was incumbent upon me to maintain vigilance regarding such matters. Due to my lack of experience, ‘Ganapath’ presents a different kind of difficulty for me. The only things I can’t do or ride a bike without help with are. To quote the actor: “The goal is to learn everything so that I can play the part with complete conviction and authenticity.
To kick off 2023, Sanon’s first film ‘Shehzada’ has been released, and she has high praise for its “complete package” of drama, romance, and action. The movie, which features Kartik Aaryan in the lead role, is a Hindi adaptation of “Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo,” a 2020 Telugu blockbuster that starred Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde.
Since Sanon and Aaryan worked together on the 2019 smash hit “Luka Chuppi,” the Hindi version directed by Rohit Dhawan will be their second film together.
“I think we have fantastic chemistry simply because we know each other. Because we have done similar work before, the results appear instantly. From what I’d heard, this movie sounded like a lot of fun, so I ended up enjoying it. There’s something for everyone in this film, so it’s great for the whole family,” she gushed.
Both of her big-budget films from last year—the comedy-horror “Bhediya,” starring Varun Dhawan, and the action comedy “Bachchan Panday,” starring Akshay Kumar—were met with cool receptions by audiences.
It’s highly dependent on luck of the draw and the number of screens you’re given. In the event that there is a previous film. Sorry if it sounds like I’m trying to defend either one, but I really did think “The Kashmir Files” and “Bachchan Panday” were both groundbreaking in their respective ways. No Akshay Kumar movie has ever been shown on fewer screens. However, ‘Bhediya’ may feel underwhelming if compared with the expectations because of other factors, despite receiving a great deal of love. It ran for an unprecedented 50 days (much today). Perhaps if it had come out at a different time and in a different place, she said, “it would have done (well).
The release date of ‘Shehzada’ has been set for this coming Friday.
