Mahima Chaudhry, Padmini Kolhapure, and Gulshan Grover
On March 24, 2023, the North East Film Festival (NEFF) opened. During its three days, the festival presented several outstanding films and documentaries from all around Northeast India. Numerous famous people, including Mahima Chaudhry, Gulshan Grover, Padmini Kolhapure, Mukesh Chhabra, Ashok Pandit, Abhinav Kashyap, Poonam Dhillon, and Pooja Sharma, were present during the festival.
Films including “The Horse from Heaven,” “Mask Art of Majuli,” “A Star is Born,” “Mohan ra Madan,” “Bohag Bohag Mon,” and “Lembi Leica” were shown during the course of the festival’s three days.
Kolhapure, who was dressed beautifully in a green dress, lighted the first lamp, while Mahima wore white.
Mahima joined in the fun and posed enthusiastically with the locals from the far northeast.
Mr. Amstrong Pame, Director I&B, Government of India, gave a speech in which he encouraged people to visit the Northeastern states and film there. Filmmakers from several different northeastern states, including Manipur, Assam, Sikkim, Tripura, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh, attended the event.
The festival’s mission is to support and promote films from all North Eastern cultures and languages in an effort to bring the region’s creative talents into the mainstream film industry and to showcase the region’s natural beauty and rich cultural heritage.
The festival was organized by the Sikkim Film Board in collaboration with the North East Film Development Corporation and Find Studioz to showcase the work of filmmakers in India’s northeastern states. It has as one of its goals the promotion of North Eastern filmmaking across genres, ethnicities, and languages, as well as the region’s natural splendor. The celebration ended today.
