Manoj Bajpayee discusses his decision to join the cast of “Veer Zaara.”
Manoj Bajpayee, a popular Bollywood actor, is lauded for breathing life into his roles. He manages to impress viewers no matter how much time they spend with him. His cameo appearance in the film “Veer Zaara” is still talked about today. I was wondering if you knew the inspiration behind Manoj’s acceptance of the role of Veer Zaara.
In an interview with Humans of Bombay, the star of “Family Man” explained that, while he was friends with Shah Rukh Khan back in their Delhi days, he actually did the film at the request of director Yash Chopra.
He said Yash Chopra personally asked him to star in the film. He first considered casting Manoj after seeing him in Delhi’s screening of “Pinjar” alongside Lal Krishan Advani and Atal Bihari Vajpayee and being impressed by his performance.
Manoj spent four or five days filming his scene, and he was given the same respect and consideration as the other actors. He also said that he had a wonderful time working with Yash Chopra and that he was treated like royalty by the ‘Veer Zaara’ crew.
Manoj Bajpayee’s most recent film was “Gulmohar,” which also starred Sharmila Tagore, Suraj Sharma, Simran, and others.
