The song “Naatu Naatu” from SS Rajamouli’s “RRR” made history by winning both the Golden Globe and the Academy Award for Best Original Song. I don’t think it’s possible for it to grow any larger than that. Everyone in India is celebrating the success of the RRR team and the song’s composer, MM Keeravani (also known as MM Kreem).
Many of Keeravani’s projects have featured Pooja Bhatt in the role of producer. After hearing that the composer had won an Oscar, Pooja said, “It’s high time everyone recognised MM Kreem for the genius he is. We’ve always believed that he deserves more recognition as the greatest music director in Indian cinema. With this victory, people of all ages will once again begin exploring the treasures and riches he has bestowed upon us. Kreem sir gave us songs like “Zakhm,” “Sur,” “Jism,” “Rog,” and “Dhokha” with melodies that will endure and endure forever, not just “chartbusters” that will fade from memory after a few months. I’m so happy for him and thankful that I got to work on five movies as a producer with him.”
One of Pooja’s most iconic songs as an actor is MM Keeravani’s “Gali Mein Aaj Chand Nikla” from the film “Zakhm” (1998).
The actress continued, reminiscing about the past several decades, “The words “Gali mein aaj chand nikla” have become an international anthem. The essence of MM Kreem is found in its purity and lyricism. His heartfelt compositions are what make them so unforgettable.”
Pooja expressed her delight in Guneet Monga’s “The Elephant Whisperers,” in addition to “Naatu Naatu’s” Oscar victory, saying, “I’m so happy for the cast of “The Elephant Whisperer,” and for Guneet in particular. I plan on seeing it as soon as possible.”
