Sam Bahadur features Vikas Shukla, Vicky Kaushal, and Meghna Gulzar, all of whom previously appeared in Raazi
The biography Sam Bahadur, directed by Meghna Gulzar and based on the life of Field Marshall Sam Manekshaw, will reunite Vikas Shukla (last seen in Jubilee) and Vicky Kaushal.
How he got the part: “I played a small role in film Raazi of a raw agent ka,” Vikas explained. Meghna ma’am had me try out for this part five years after we had last worked together since she remembered me from that time. In my opinion, no effort is ever wasted, and it often leads to other opportunities. So she put me through an audition for the part of Sam Manekshaw’s (Vicky Kaushal) older brother, Fali.
He stated of his time spent with Meghna Gulzar again, “She is definitely a fantastic human and a dedicated filmmaker as all we know. Her body of work defies description. She has a keen eye for detail and is meticulous when describing her characters’ physical traits. You can imagine the time and effort put into researching and developing the historical play Sam Bahadur, which is based on the life of Sam Manekshaw. I, too, was called in for the “look test” more than once, despite having only a tiny bit of evidence. Just so you know.”
Vikas remarked of Vicky Kaushal, “Me and Vicky already collaborated in Raazi, but we didn’t get acquainted during that period. On the other hand, we shared screen time in Sam Bahadur. He’s a great performer and he’s also quite approachable. I hope to collaborate with him on future endeavours.
In addition to his work with Manav Kaul in the film Baramulla, Vikas co-stars with Sharib Hashmi in the film Incomplete Man.
