Anushka: Aditya Chopra told me not to tell my parents about ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi‘
She, who stars opposite Shah Rukh Khan in her first film, “Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi,” was instructed by Yash Raj Films‘ CEO Aditya Chopra not to tell her parents about the project.
In the documentary series The Romantics, Anushka reveals that Aditya Chopra wanted to keep the details of her debut under wraps so much that he instructed her to not even tell her parents about the film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.
While laughing, Anushka says, “Everything was kept secret. Adi didn’t want anyone to know that I was the main actor because he didn’t want the movie to be a success. Adi sternly commanded, “You can’t tell anybody,” so I won’t. You can’t even tell your own mother and father. After a moment of confusion, I questioned, “Huh?”
In ‘The Romantics,’ Bollywood‘s biggest names—from Aamir Khan to Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan to Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan to Ranveer Singh, Rani Mukerji to Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif to Anushka Sharma—celebrate Yash Chopra and YRF for their impact on Indian cinema.
Smriti Mundhra, who directed the critically acclaimed Netflix originals “Indian Matchmaking” and the “Never Have I Ever” series, returns with “The Romantics,” which has been nominated for both an Oscar and an Emmy.
