Never had any inter personal relationship ever with Raj Kapoor: Zeenat Aman

Zeenat Aman, a veteran actor, stated on Friday that the late Dev Anand was “completely wrong” in assuming that she had a “inter-personal relationship” with cinema legend Raj Kapoor. Anand had mentioned his feelings for Aman in his autobiography “Romancing with Life,” published in 2007, after the two had co-starred in the film “Hare Rama Hare Krishna” in 1971. However, after being offered the film “Satyam Shivam Sunderam,” Aman eventually became close with actor Shashi Kapoor.
Aman suggested that Anand may have changed some details in his autobiography about her and Kapoor’s relationship. This was discussed at the ABP Ideas Of India 2023 summit.
“With due respect, there are times when, while recounting an incident or anecdote, we add some bits to make it interesting. I can’t say for sure what Dev sahab was thinking, but whatever it was, it was wrong.
“From here on out, I will include this in my book” (autobiography). Even though the 71-year-old actor has a lot of respect for and admiration of Dev sahab, he admits that this action was inappropriate.
In “Satyam Shivam Sundaram,” Aman claimed that the late legendary Raj Kapoor was the reason she went to meet him.
I would go to meet him as the heroine he was about to have. None of us ever had any kind of close friendship or romantic relationship, not then, not later, not ever. He felt deeply about what he did. Having a genuine interest in what I was doing drove me to excel at it. And he never once inquired as to my non-white attire. She continued, “You can see from the old photos that I have never worn white when I have met him, whether we are working together or just hanging out.
Asha Parekh, who was also at the Summit, remarked that she hoped Aman, a fantastic author, would soon write her autobiography.
During their conversation, the two veteran actors also broached the topic of marriage.
Parekh expressed relief at not getting married.
All marriages are blessed by God. It will happen if it must, but it won’t if it’s not supposed to. Perhaps it wasn’t meant to be, but I’m glad it didn’t, and I think you’ll agree with me on that.
Aman claims it is especially difficult for a woman working in the entertainment industry to have a happy marriage. She also noted that female celebrities frequently put their personal lives on hold to pursue their careers.
It’s preferable to stay single than to be in a marriage that doesn’t work out. A lot of people don’t realise how hard actors work to keep their marriages together. Many ordinary people might not be willing to make the kind of sacrifices that these girls (referring to married actresses) do. They tie the knot because that’s what they really want. To paraphrase, “I know quite a few girls who put up with a lot of things that most girls would not put up with,” she said.
Zeenat’s first husband was also an actor—Sanjay Khan—and her second was Mazhar Khan, another actor who died in 1998.
