For the upcoming charity fashion event for Lakshmi Manchu’s organisation, Teach for Change, Bollywood star Rakul Preet Singh cannot contain her excitement about taking the runway alongside her boyfriend Jackky Bhagnani.
The renowned fashion designer Varun Chakkilam will be responsible for the actress’s look as she makes her way down the catwalk as the show’s highlight.
Rakul Preet, when asked about her participation in the show, said the following: “For me, Lakshmi is like a member of my own family, so being able to contribute to an endeavour that is so important to her is extremely gratifying. I have been able to witness the expansion of Teach for Change’s annual charity fashion show throughout the course of its seven previous iterations. This year will mark the event’s eighth iteration.”
Lakshmi added: “Showstopper roles almost always go to Rakul first in my book. When I entered the ship, Varun showed a lot of enthusiasm. Rakul is not just my buddy, but also my philosopher and my mentor, and she has years of experience walking the runway. In addition to all of those things, she is a thoroughbred professional.”
Lakshmi did not reveal a lot when she was questioned about Rakul’s show-stopping ensemble; however, she did say that they are still undecided between two looks, both of which she is in love with.
Rakul said: “Wearing what is comfortable and accessorising it in a way that makes it appear more edgy is, I believe, my go-to fashion philosophy rather than following the latest trends. I enjoy trying new things with my appearance, and as of late, one of my favourite trends has been to wear colour blocking and warmer tones.”
The event will be hosted by Lakshmi Manchu, who, in addition to Rakul and Jackky Bhagnani, will walk the runway alongside the badminton superstars Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap, as well as a few other South Indian celebrities. Teach for Change, an organisation that seeks to provide educational opportunities to disadvantaged children all over South India, will receive all of the earnings from the charity event.
