After a two-year battle with leukaemia, Rishi Kapoor passed away on April 30, 2020. The actor who is sometimes referred to as the original “chocolate boy” of Hindi cinema has appeared in several classic films, including “Bobby” and “Chandni.”
After meeting on the set of the film Khel Khel Mein, in which Neetu Kapoor also appeared, Rakesh Roshan quickly became one of Rishi Kapoor’s closest friends. Roshan’s message suggests, however, that not even death could destroy their connection. Today is the third anniversary of Rishi’s death, so to commemorate the occasion, Rakesh posted an old photo of the two of them together with the caption, “Chintu you will always remain a friend.”
Fans, too, felt a pang of nostalgia and showered the image with praise. “I think of him so often,” the actor Ronit Bose Roy wrote about a former coworker. Oh, how I long for him. “Recently watched Khel khel me..awesome movie..but I miss your directorials….,” one user said. Please keep delivering the high-quality films you’ve been known for; your devoted audience is waiting.
Rishi was described as “childlike” by Roshan, who had previously spoken about their closeness in an interview. He also mentioned that Kapoor was an avid eater and drinker; nonetheless, these habits did not prove fatal for him. When he was diagnosed with cancer in 2018, Roshan was in London, but they kept in touch regularly, talking for an hour or more three or four times a week, when it was morning or night in New York.
Also today, the actor’s wife Neetu Singh and daughter Riddhima wrote heartfelt letters to him in which they expressed how much they miss him.
