Samamtha Ruth Prabhu’s fame has expanded beyond the borders of the South. Samantha’s reaction to a question about how her life has changed since she became a Pan India star at a recent event had the crowd in fits of laughter. The actress is currently preparing for the release of her film, Shaakuntalam.

It was an honour to play the Princess in a film like ‘Shaakuntalam,’ in which she represents the pinnacle of achievement. It was scary at first to take on such a major role. But for the past few years, I’ve made it a point to challenge myself. As a kid, this is the kind of role I fantasised about playing. That’s a quality that should endear her to women and families everywhere, in my opinion. This is not a straightforward tale. Love, treachery, and redemption all coexist in this story. The character was intricate and had been written down for decades, if not millennia.
The film will also be the first acting role for Allu Arjun’s daughter, Allu Arha. Samantha said at the occasion, in reference to Allu Arjun and his engagement in his daughter’s work, “I don’t think her father is going to involve himself in her career.” After this film, things are going to take off in a new direction. In addition to the main protagonists, Arha’s role has also been nicely realised.
Samantha is presently filming the Indian adaptation of Citadel alongside Varun Dhawan as the film’s release, ‘Shaakuntalam,’ approaches.
