The actress Sharmila Tagore has recently spoken openly about her former co-stars and filming experiences. She recently appeared on The Kapil Sharma Show, where she gushed about her time spent on set with Shammi Kapoor in films like An Evening in Paris and Kashmir Ki Kali.
Sharmila reminisced about Shammi’s energetic spurts on the Kashmir Ki Kali sets and said, “Working with Shammi Kapoor, especially as a newcomer, was incredibly challenging. During the dress rehearsal, he would do one thing, but during the take, he would do something completely different. He would appear out of nowhere, sometimes down from up high and other times up close and personal from up close and personal.”
On the sets of An Evening in Paris, working with Shammi became an even more shocking experience. When asked about the time Shammi jumped out of a helicopter, Sharmila recalled the story. What did she utter? “When Shammi ji sang “Aasmaan Se Aaya Farishta” from “An Evening in Paris,” she was dangling from the helicopter. While you were reading this, I was out waterskiing (Sharmila wore a swimsuit). He was perched precariously on the edge of the chopper, his toned thighs hanging out over the edge. While this was undeniably alluring, it also presented some challenges for the pilot. Without warning, he jumped on the boat in the middle of the shot. As far as I know, that was never intended. That’s just how Shammi ji was.”
Continuing, she said that the unexpected stunt had caught everyone on set off guard.
