A new motion poster for the film Adipurush, starring Kriti Sanon as the character loosely based on Sita from the Hindu epic Ramayana, was released today in celebration of Sita Navami. Kriti is first seen in the role of Janaki in this short film, which features the uplifting music of Jai Siya Ram. In the movie poster, Kriti as Janaki appears ethereal in a beige saree and saffron dupatta.
The epic “Adipurush,” directed by Om Raut and reportedly based on the “Ramayana,” is presented in a lavish setting. The film’s international debut will take place during the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival in New York before it hits theatres. To that end, Raut had previously stated, “We wanted to transmit the story of Shri Ram and ‘Ramayana’ to the young of not just our nation but the entire world… One of our goals was accomplished by being given the opportunity to screen the film at Tribeca. The director had previously told PTI, “Challenges are always there, but that will only make our cinema better and journey stronger,” signalling his intention to offer impressive images. The fact that we utilised the same kind of cutting-edge technology that you see in blockbuster films like ‘Avatar,’ ‘Marvel,’ and ‘DC,’ makes this film a first for India.
Prabhas portrays Raghava, Kriti plays Janaki, Saif Ali Khan plays Lankesh, Sunny Singh plays Lakshmana, and Devdatta Nage plays Hanuman in ‘Adipurush. The release date for the picture is set for June 16th.
