After his acquittal in the Jiah Khan case, Sooraj Pancholi expressed his gratitude to his “supporters” in this way

Sooraj Pancholi wrote a statement of gratitude to “all those who have always supported and believed” in him on Friday, hours after a special court acquitted him of abetment in the killing of actress Jiah Khan.
Only I know how I have survived all these years of sorrow and pain, so thank you to everyone who has supported and believed in me. Your duas and prayers of unconditional love have been my only source of fortitude.On Instagram, he said, “I would not have made it without you.”
On June 3, 2013, the body of the 25-year-old ‘Nishabd’ star was discovered in her house in Mumbai’s Juhu neighbourhood. A six-page letter, supposedly written by Jiah, was eventually used as evidence in Sooraj’s arrest for aiding in her suicide.
Sooraj and Jiah were rumoured to be dating.
Rabia Khan, Jiah’s mother, said her daughter was killed. Rabia filed a petition in Bombay High Court in October 2013 alleging her daughter’s murder and asking for a CBI investigation.
In July of 2014, the CBI took over the investigation from the Maharashtra Police in response to an order from the Bombay High Court. Sooraj is the son of actors Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, and according to Rabia, he was involved in an abusive relationship with her daughter.
However, a CBI court in Mumbai acquitted Sooraj of all charges on Friday.
After his acquittal in the Jiah Khan case, Sooraj also sent a statement to the media, claiming that the past decade had been “painful” for him and his family.
Ten agonising years and many sleepless nights have culminated in this judgement, but I can finally say, “I won.” I won not only the case against me, but I also won my pride and self-respect back. Having the guts to face the world after having such serious accusations made against me was no easy feat. To God, I pray, I hope that no one else has to go through what I have at such a young age.
He continued, “I don’t know who will give me these 10 years of my life back, but I am glad that this has finally come to an end not only for me but, especially, for my family.”
