Released in theatres on May 5th, ‘Kerala Story‘ has already generated controversy. The Adah Sharma movie has been said to be inspired by true events. Four women who have converted to Islam serve as the central characters. Several Indian states, including Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, have removed sales taxes from the movie while West Bengal has banned it.

On the other hand, the Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPPA) strongly disagrees with the prohibition and considers it to be unjustified. Any film that has been approved for public screening by the Central Board of Film Certification cannot be recalled for any reason, not even by the Central Government, according to IMPPA. Any state that institutes such a ban is violating not only its citizens’ right to free speech but also their right to see any and all films that meet the standards for public screening. As a result, the IMPPA considers the ban to be unreasonable. They also made a statement that no state government has the right to deny citizens these freedoms.

As a result, the IMPPA has asked that the state of West Bengal immediately lift the prohibition and guarantee the screening’s security. Refusing folks their right to free speech by banning a film is unacceptable.
Sudipto Sen helms “The Kerala Story,” with Vipul Shah serving as producer. Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani, and Siddhi Idnani all make appearances.
