This can be thought of as an expose. Irrfan Khan always responded with grace and tact when asked about rumours of tension between him and co-star Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The same goes for Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
However, we asked the same question a few days ago to Nawaz’s brother Shamas, who was very close to Nawaz until they had an ugly falling out. Shamas used to spend a lot of time with Nawaz and manage his PR team. Our video interviewee, Shamas, answered this question without batting an eye. Anurag Kashyap, one of the producers on “The Lunchbox,” reportedly had to play mediator during a few fights between Irrfan and Nawaz during filming. The situation escalated to the point where an entire shooting day had to be cancelled. With a nod to political correctness, Shamas concluded, “I think such a thing happens in movies when both the actors are of such high stature,” revealing that both Nawaz and Irrfan had admitted that they would only enter the set if the other one was present.
