Following his assessment of “The Romantics,” Karan Johar approached Aditya Chopra with a request to share photos he had taken of him and the actors over the years.

The Romantics
Karan Johar gave an impassioned critique of ‘The Romantics,’ an OTT film released on Valentine’s Day. He admitted watching all four episodes of the documentary series in one sitting, which made him reflect on the techniques of classic filmmaking.
“I realised that the sincerity, the naivety, and the conviction we all shared collectively… is so lost today for most of us…. Yash Chopra is more than a romantic legend. somebody who appreciates chiffon, music, and aesthetics a musical theatre virtuoso He was also a rock of faith and certainty… Does anyone still believe in anything today? Media commentary weighs heavily on us… Where did good old-fashioned conviction go?” asked Karan Johar, who reflected on the disappearance of such things as box office opening analytics and research engines (likely applicable to the technology and era).
The show, he said, made him think about his own life, and “The rom doc reminds us of the past that appeared so organic and heartfelt…. Really gets my creative juices flowing and makes me yearn to go back into filming mode. The history and development of the YRF has been incredibly motivational to me. I count myself fortunate to have learned everything I do in the studio hallways, and seeing The Romantics has made me so introspective… of my abilities and my flaws. We appreciate @smritimundhra’s skill in crafting a story from the records and taking viewers on an emotional roller coaster over all four episodes. simple genius!
In a tribute to Aditya and Uday Chopra, KJo exclaimed, “And finally my Best friend has a face and how beautifully expressive was he!!! Does that mean I can finally publish the hundreds of photos we’ve taken together over the years without fear of your wrath? #justasking #loveyouAdi My deepest appreciation goes to my closest friend @udayc for being the driving force behind this.
