In relation to the Toshakhana fraud case, the LHC has decided to release the PTI head on precautionary bail.Former Prime Minister believes he has been “falsely implicated” in the FIR investigation.Imran Khan, the former prime minister of Pakistan and the current chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was granted interim protective bail on Wednesday by the Lahore High Court (LHC) in a case involving allegations of fraud in the sale of presents he had retained from the Toshakhana. The parole will remain in effect until June 21. Khan was removed from his position as prime minister in August.

A day earlier, the first information report (FIR) was filed at Islamabad’s Kohsar police station, accusing the deposed premier — who was removed from office via a vote of no-confidence in April of last year — his wife Bushra Bibi, former accountability czar Shahzad Akbar and others of committing fraud, forgery for the purpose of cheating and resenting a fake receipt of the complainant’s business letterhead wherein false receipt showing sale.

In the appeal that he submitted to the court, the former prime minister claimed that he was “falsely implicated” in the FIR with “mala fide intention and ulterior motive.”According to the appeal that he filed, the former prime minister said that the purpose of the FIR was to intimidate, blackmail, and politically victimise him.Barrister Salman Safdar, Khan’s attorney, informed LHC Judge Justice Amjad Rafique during the course of the proceeding that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had previously taken an action against Khan in connection with the Toshakhana case.

As the PTI head is scheduled to appear in court in Islamabad on June 8 in 11 separate instances, he pleaded with the judge to give his client protective bail. The defence attorney announced in open court that a fresh charge of murdering another attorney has been brought against his client, who is currently being prosecuted for more than 150 separate offences. During the proceeding, the former prime minister who had been removed from her position was also present in the courtroom.In the end, the judge decided to release the chairman of the PTI on precautionary bail until June 21 and instructed him to go before the appropriate court about the case.
