Just as there are marriages made in heaven, there are also partnerships forged in the fires of show business. Kartik Aaryan and his filmmaker pal Luv Ranjan are a great example of a compatible pair. Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety was one of four films in which they appeared together, and it changed the trajectory of their careers. It was impossible for Luv Ranjan to leave behind his good luck charm and best friend Kartik after working with Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar.
ETimes has obtained a major exclusive just as the film’s promotion for the upcoming release starring Ranbir and Shraddha is set to begin. ETimes has learned from reliable sources that Kartik will appear briefly in Luv Ranjan’s next film. According to the insider: “Kartik Aaryan will be the biggest surprise of the film.”
We wondered if Kartik would reprise one of his previous characters from Luv Ranjan’s movie, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar, as a nod to the franchise character crossover seen in the recent Pathaan, in which Shah Rukh Khan’s character teamed up with Salman Khan’s Tiger. According to the report, “It’s unclear whether he will play Sonu or another character in the movie. However, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar is a film in the same vein as those for which Luv Ranjan is famous. They’ll have to sit tight and see what Kartik dishes out for his fans.”
Shraddha Kapoor, who plays the female lead in the film, said a few days ago that she was grateful that Nushratt Bharuccha and Kartik Aaryan, who were originally cast in the roles, declined them so that Ranbir Kapoor and she could take over. There’s a chance that Kartik won’t be the main character, but he could steal the show if given the chance.
