Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Urvashi Rautela get notices for endorsing misleading ads

The CCPA issued a notice to Lotus 365, a gaming firm, after it took “suo moto cognisance” of an advertisement for the company in the newspaper. That company is “India’s most trust sports exchange since 2015,” according to the ad.The firm has been asked to provide evidence in support of its assertions. Meanwhile, well-known actors such as Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Urvashi Rautela have received praise for endorsing the product. Before supporting the company’s claims, they have been requested to explain how they came to that conclusion. Before signing on as an endorser, celebrities were expected to perform “specific diligence” by the consumer affairs ministry. These celebrities would need to provide evidence that supports their assertions that the brand’s claims are true before they could be considered brand endorsers.
Since three celebrities, including Nawaz and Urvashi, have endorsed the company’s “misleading” campaign, they have been sent with notifications. Before taking any action, it waited to hear back from the company and the stars.
Meanwhile, Nawazuddin is embroiled in a legal struggle with his wife, Aaliya Siddiqui, adding to the cloud of controversy already surrounding him.
