Neetu Chandra Srivastava shares her thoughts on Women’s Day: If you want the change, be the change
On March 3, actress Neetu Chandra Srivastava was a special guest at the Indian Consulate in Dubai in honour of International Women’s Day. The actress spoke at the event about making positive change for women in our culture.
She made a brief speech and said, “I’m excited to connect with a diverse group of women who are working to improve the world around them. If you want to see change, you must make it. For a more unified society, I need to meet women who can each inspire ten other women. The idea that women can’t be productive or creative when they join forces is dated and outdated. We can make a significant impact on the world if we work together. My expectation is that this gathering will foster a sense of community and international harmony.”
Neetu elaborated on the significance of Women’s Day by saying, “Women embody power and strength in all their forms. Because of them, culture as a whole advances. The power of their ideas and affection is felt by all. It is crucial to set aside a single day each year to recognise this enduring power. Because of the women in my life, I am able to accomplish what I am today. My mother deserves all the credit for the person I have become. That’s because it’s my mother’s day today.”
She continued, discussing the weight of her position as an international ambassador for women’s rights, “I am aware of the immense responsibility it is to speak for all the women of India, past and present, who have persevered through adversity to achieve success and prosperity. As the honoured guest here today, I feel a weighty obligation to speak for women everywhere. In addition to working to end gender-based violence, I am passionate about expanding access to quality education and encouraging female entrepreneurs. I will work to improve the lives of future generations of Indian women and women around the world.”
