Many delays later, production began last week on the third installment of the Hera Pheri franchise, a cult comedy series from Bollywood. In a major twist, Akshay Kumar, not Kartik Aaryan, starred in the film’s promotional video alongside Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty. If you haven’t been keeping up with the rumours, Akshay had rejected the script and Kartik was on the point of signing the dotted line. A further unexpected turn of events was the replacement of Anees Bazmee as Hera Pheri 3’s director with Farhad Samji. Last-minute cast and crew changes have been the subject of persistent rumours. Kartik was rumoured to have replaced Akshay Kumar in the Housefull franchise as he basked in the glory of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’s popularity. Clearly, the world of the super spies in the espionage universe is vastly different from the world of the anti-establishment anti-heroes in Dhoom. Soon after Urvashi Rautela’s Instagram photo sparked speculation that she would be joining the cast of Rishab Shetty’s Kantara 2, a source with knowledge of the film’s production dispelled the rumours. Unfortunately, Urvashi’s caption “#KANTARA 2 @rishabshettyofficial @hombalefilms loading #RS” is to blame in this instance. It so happened that the actress was in the same building as Rishab Shetty, so she approached him, asked to take a picture with him, and he kindly obliged.
Kartik appears to be the darling of scandal. He also gained notoriety due to unfounded rumours following Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’s box office success. There were rumours that Kartik had increased his rates after his latest film broke the pandemic’s box office drought in Hindi. The rumours stopped spreading after he tweeted an explanation and producer Bhushan Kumar denied them. Kumar, who is also supporting Kartik in his upcoming film Shehzada, said that the actor is very down-to-earth and not motivated by money.
Tiger Shroff, who worked with Karan Johar on the much-talked-about project Screw Dheela, was also the target of a similar rumour. There were reports that the movie was scrapped because KJo and Tiger couldn’t come to terms on Tiger’s reported 30-crore-Rupee salary demand. According to a source close to the project, this rumour, like all the others before it, is completely false.
Karan Johar’s next film, Takht, has been in development hell for a long time, giving rise to a slew of rumours. According to the rumours, KJo and LYCA Productions had been in negotiations, but the agreement was reportedly scrapped because the parties involved were unable to come to terms.
